Donate For more than 25 years, REST has been dedicated to improving the lives of homeless men and women in Chicago. Donations in the form of monetary contributions and basic human necessities (food, clothing, toiletries, and household items for apartments) allow REST to carry out this mission, and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. REST is a careful steward of your donation, using only 7% of its resources on fundraising and administration. Box 408307 Chicago, IL 60640 Attn: Development Department Donate Items or Services Every year, REST relies heavily on the donations of professional services and items to be used in the Shelters, Medical Clinic and Housing Program. Items may be dropped off at our administrative offices on 941 W. Lawrence. Occasionally, for larger or more valuable items, arrangements can be made for a pick-up by calling our offices at (773) 784-0909. REST needs the following: Health Toilet Paper, Personal-Size Toiletries (esp. soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, shaving cream), Feminine Hygiene Products, Over-the-Counter Medicines, Vitamins Nutrition Breakfast and Dinner food for Shelters: Cereal, Fruit, Soups, Casseroles, pasta, etc. Any Non-perishable food items (esp. Powdered Milk, Powdered Coffee Creamer and Sugar), Paper Products to serve meals (plates, napkins, etc.) Clothing New underwear and socks, large sizes of Men’s clothing, Seasonal clothing, Clothing suitable for job interviews Housing Linens, Electronic Items, Decorative Items, Cooking and Cleaning Supplies, Toilet Paper Social Service and Office Supplies Art supplies for art classes, Storage Shelves and Cabinets, 8x11 paper, file folders, etc, Make a Donation in Someone’s Honor Honor somebody by making a donation in their name! REST has dedicated acknowledgement cards that will be sent to your special person indicating that you have made a donation in their name.
